NICE is nasty

Quote from the BBC website 7th August 2008

"Patients with advanced kidney cancer will be denied four treatments on the NHS under proposals from the government's drugs advisory body.
The drugs - bevacizumab, sorafenib, sunitinib and temsirolimus - do not offer value for money, according to draft guidelines for England and Wales."

Bob is already taking the drug Sutent (Sunitinib) at a cost to us of £4,000 per 4 weeks cycle.  Although he has this dreadful disease, Bob is still active and feels well but he needs  to take this drug indefinitely to be able to maintain the status quo.
We need your help - if you can lobby your MP or know of any other ways to help Bob to  remain active and answering your questions, then please let us know.

Additional background information on the decision by NICE can be found at  Cancer Research UK's website
